1st Shoeburyness Company Girls Brigade

Girls’ Brigade is a voluntary, international, Christian youth organisation. It is interdenominational and was founded in Dublin (Ireland) in 1893 and is now working in over 50 countries worldwide. The Company at Friars Baptist church was started 20 years ago and meets on a Wednesday Night during term time.

We also have Sunday Church Parade services four times a year, camps, outings and joint activities with other local Girls’ Brigade companies.
We seek to empower girls to be themselves, to develop and use their gifts and skills, explore the Christian faith, make friends for life and serve in their communities and further afield. This all takes place in an atmosphere of fun and friendship, where the girls can learn to care for
themselves, their friends and those around them.

For older girls we provide leadership training and the opportunity to work for their Duke of Edinburgh and Queen’s Award.

We would love you to join us on a Wednesday evening – the weekly subscription is just £1.
